The diuretic activity of each of these herbs is complemented by the moderate anti-inflammatory properties of Dandelion leaf, the mild astringent actions of Cleavers and Uva ursi, and the urinary antiseptic properties of Buchu. All have a traditional use in the relief of fluid retention and the pain and burning sensation of cystitis. Dandelion leaf is naturally rich in potassium, and, unlike many pharmaceutical diuretic preparations, supplementation with potassium is not generally necessary when using Blackmores Herbal Diuretic.
