What it does:
Blackmores Total Calcium Plus Magnesium aids in the prevention of calcium deficiency states including osteoporosis. A lack of calcium in the diet could lead to osteoporosis and its consequences - weak and brittle bones.
Calcium is responsible for much of the strength of bones and teeth, with calcium phosphate forming the structural basis of the skeleton. It is also involved in a variety of body processes, including muscle and nerve function and iron metabolism. If dietary calcium is low, the body may take the calcium it needs from the bones, leading to brittle bones and possibly osteoporosis (a reduction in bone density)

Three different forms of calcium are combined with added co-factors vitamins D3, K1 and the mineral magnesium to increase absorption and function of calcium. Contains phosphate ions which are an integral part of the bone matrix. Vitamin D helps maintain serum calcium and phosphate levels and increases the active absorption of calcium ions in the intestine to increase mineralisation of bone. Zinc is important for the calcification of bone. Vitamin C is involved in the production of collagen, elastin and other constituents of the musculo-skeletal system.
