Calcium Orotate it is a chelate of the mineral calcium with orotic acid which plays an important role in active mineral transport. Orotic acid is involved in pyrimidine biosynthesis and thus growth it is converted to uridine mono-phosphate (UMP) which is subsequently converted into a nucleic acids and other pyrimidine compounds and cofactors. Calcium is essential for building and maintaining skeletal tissue. It is therefore important that the body's calcium needs are met to maintain healthy bones.
